The Ministry of Culture's institution "All of Greece, One Culture" connects modern creative expression with cultural heritage.

History

The Ministry of Culture’s programme “All of Greece, One Culture” was launched in spring 2020, amidst the pandemic, and has since become one of the most important cultural institutions in the country, offering a rare cultural experience at emblematic archaeological sites, distinctive monuments, and museums across Greece.

Every summer (July – August), “All of Greece, One Culture” presents high-quality cultural events that blend modern creative expression with cultural heritage in groundbreaking ways. It also creates job opportunities for a significant number of cultural workers and collaborators from local communities. From its beginning to this day, the institution has been warmly welcomed by local communities and visitors from Greece and abroad, achieving exceptional success.

From 2022 onwards, the programme “All of Greece, One Culture” invites artists and artistic groups to create new pieces focusing on specific themes: the 100th anniversary  of the Asia Minor Catastrophe (2022), Climate Crisis (2023), and Conflict (2024).

Programme 2024

This year’s “All of Greece, One Culture” programme will encompass a variety of art genres and present 70 new productions. The events will take place at 70 archaeological sites, monuments, and museums across 12 regions of Greece, excluding Attica. The programme will feature a total of 150 events including theatre, music, performances/activities for children and teenagers, dance, visual and performance art, and music theatre.

Selection Process

The productions to be presented are selected by a special committee of the Ministry of Culture, after an open call for proposals issued on the Ministry of Culture’s online portal portal.culture.gov.grr. In line with the programme’s philosophy, the final selections focus on innovative and hybrid forms that emerge from the dialectic pairing of several art forms in each event. The productions are based on original concepts proposed by non-profit art companies. The evaluation committee, in collaboration with the Ministry’s relevant services, selects the archaeological sites where the productions will be presented in 12 regions of Greece.

Production

Since 2021, the program has been managed by the Greek National Opera, which is also responsible for its executive production, funded by the Ministry of Culture.

The events included in the programme “All of Greece, One Culture” are presented by the Ministry of Culture at no cost to the visitors. Attendees will only need to pay the entrance ticket fee for the archaeological site, if there is one. Advance booking is required.
