Archaeological Museum of Karditsa
Description
The Archaeological Museum of Karditsa, which opened to the public in 2010, showcases the region’s cultural development from the Paleolithic Age to Late Antiquity. The exhibition is organized both chronologically and thematically, focusing on various aspects of everyday life, including private and public life, the economy, worship practices, and death. Some of the notable findings from the broader area include artifacts from Lake Plastira and the vaulted tomb of Saint Theodores. The museum also includes a hall for educational programmes, a library, and a conservation workshop. Educational programmes, such as “Statues at Night…. Don’t Say Goodnight…”, offer children an interactive introduction to mythology and archaeology.
