Description

The Archaeological Museum of Eretria was founded in 1962. The current arrangement of its exhibition, funded by the Swiss Archaeological School, was completed in 1991. The museum hosts findings from significant archaeological sites in the broader Eretria region, spanning from prehistoric to Roman times. It showcases ceramic artifacts from all periods, sculptures, and carvings from the Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic eras, bronze items such as vessels, statuettes, luxury goods from the East, jewelry made of gold, silver, bronze, and Egyptian faience (including buckles, chains, earrings, etc.), lamps, and weaponry.
