The Archaeological Museum of Pella, designed by architect Konstaninos Skroubelos, is located at the site of the Ancient City of Pella. It serves as a key reference point for the history of ancient Macedonia and ranks among the most important museums in Northern Greece.
Since it opened its gates in 2009, it has attracted thousands of visitors from Greece and abroad. It has established itself as a major cultural hub in the region, offering periodic exhibitions, educational programmes, lectures, and various cultural events. It houses findings from the excavations in Pella and showcases the history, art, and daily life of the Macedonian capital from the 4th century BC to the Roman era. The museum is organized according to modern standards, featuring thematic units and explanatory materials that enhance visitors’ understanding of the cultural and historical significance of Pella, the birthplace of Alexander the Great.
