Casa Romana, located in the city of Kos, is one of the most important examples of Roman urban residences in Greece. The mansion dates back to the late Roman Era (3rd century AD) and was uncovered during excavations in the 20th-century.
The complex includes atriums, rooms with stunning mosaic floors, frescoes, and decorative elements that attest to the wealth and social status of its owners. Its architecture follows Roman models, combining functionality and luxury, and features interior courtyards and reception halls.
Today, Casa Romana has been restored and is open to visitors, offering a vivid picture of daily life on Kos during the Roman Era and substantially enhancing the understanding of the island’s history.
