Archaeological Museum of Thebes

Description

The Archaeological Museum of Thebes is one of Greece’s most important archaeological museums, as many of its collections are either rare or unique in their kind. Its exhibits come from excavations in Boeotia and cover the area’s civilization from the Paleolithic to the Post-Byzantine times. The new Archaeological Museum of Thebes has an exhibition space of 1,000 sq.m. and houses a diverse collection of artifacts that reflect the rich history of continuous human activity in Boeotia over millennia. The exhibition area is spread over two different levels to protect the natural environment on the western  slope of the hill of Kadmeia.
